MarlaIt's Been A Busy Month

I would like to thank all the members and chapter President's that attended our AAF - Fourth District Annual conference in Jacksonville. The weekend was full of advertising industry greatness as we watched seven district college chapters compete in the District Four NSAC competition for Glidden paint. The District ADDY gala winners were showcased at Everbank Field with a show that began with a drumline and ended with Best of Show. Congratulations to all of our winners. You can view the online album of winning work by clicking here. Finally, our annual conference included professional development with speakers Jack Daniels, Zaxby's, Go Cocktails and more. A huge thank you to Tyler Morris, President of AAF - Jacksonville,  and his board of directors for hosting an impecable conference and ADDY show as well as our Executive Director, Sarah Jeffcoat.

I am also happy to report that the AAF brand is growing at all levels. We learned this on April 29 when Susan Waldeck, Governor-Elect, and I had the pleasure of representing District Four at the AAF Council of Governor's meeting and AAF Board of Directors meeting in New York City.  Here, the AAF President, James Edmund Datri, reported to the board of directors on the growth of membership across the country, the addition of new Corporate memberships, Ad2 chapters and the success of Advocacy Day on the Hill. The AAF Hall of Fame event included inducting the Nike corporation You can read more on this year's inductee's or watch the taped video of the 2013 Hall of Fame online at

We have two months left in the year before I have the pleasure of passing the baton to Susan Waldeck. I have no doubt that under her leadership the District will continue to grow to new heights in all 8 core initiatives of AAF.  Before then, we will continue to offer benefits of membership and leadership to our local AAF Fourth District chapters.  Don't miss our District-wide live program on May 16 from 12:30pm - 1:15pm with the founder of Purple, Rock Scissor's, Bobby Jones as he discusses their innovative strategies and how to stay ahead of the digital curve. For details on seeing the event in your area contact your local club.
